DJ Weetos & Legacy X surprise the audience with their music videos

Lately I had the feeling that I was missing out on the music scene, because I was very busy doing hard work as an employer at a Japanese company. You know, to earn a living and such. So after a while, I decided to dive some more into electronic music scene on SoundCloud. I was active somewhere in 2013 with a band called Brown Leg, but I was not really active anymore in the live music scene, especially not in 2020 to 2022 because of you know what.

Soundcloud is a big player in the independent music industry. Every artist can just upload their tracks and create a following and even a big fan base.

Anyway, I bumped into some nice music on SoundCloud that was refreshing and not the kind of music that you hear everyday on commercial radio in the car on your way to work and back. It was more creative and lively. No auto tune voice every song over and over, but songs without any vocals or songs with vocalists that can actually sing without help of an electronic device.

This made me think, could there be hope for me and my buddy? We were making music for some 4 to 5 years on a computer and we did it just for fun, not so much for fame and fortune. But this little journey on Soundcloud and Bandcamp made me think. It is not so tough anymore to publish your songs, do some promotion and build a following. These days you can actually make a nice brand yourself as an independent artist or band.

I talked it over with my buddy Adam, who is not to keen on getting a large online focus on his own person. But he agreed to let the music do the talking and we would just have an artist page and give ourselves some artist names. He was producing mash ups and remixes already for years under the name DJ Weetos, but I had a totally different background in contemporary rock music as a bass player and producer.

So I had to come up with a name which would represent me as an artist on a new quest for fresh sounds. I later came up with the name Legacy-X. I had prior experience as a bandmember in a totally different genre, but exactly that would be the legacy I would bring to the table exploring these new sounds and songs. The X stands for eXperience or generation X: a new generation of electronic music with contemporary ideas of how to write songs. Together we are DJ Weetos & Legacy-X

A new concept was born and we decided to polish our songs, so these would be fit for an audience and we published 5 of our songs to SoundCloud in February2023. We made a fresh account and we made a top 5 of about 20 songs. From there we grew our online presence.

I also took a dive into video editing, because I used to do it when I was still working professionally as an audio/visual engineer back in the days. I made some experimental videos with the help of AI text to video generation with Genmo. Later on, I decided to experiment some more with stock videos from Artgrid. I became more and more savvy in the editing flow and I produced music videos every week. We ended up posting these music videos on our YouTube channel. DJ Weetos & Legacy-X will surprise the YouTube audience with their music videos.

Slowly but surely, we started to have a lot of fun with our creations and the feedback we got back from our followers inspired us to create more content and now we want to share our work with you. Enjoy our music and music videos!

If you want to support us financially, you can do so by buying from our Bandcamp page.
