DJ Weetos & Legacy X surprise the audience with their music videos

Lately I had the feeling that I was missing out on the music scene, because I was very busy doing hard work as an employer at a Japanese company. You know, to earn a living and such. So after a while, I decided to dive some more into electronic music scene on SoundCloud. I was active somewhere in 2013 with a band called Brown Leg, but I was not really active anymore in the live music scene, especially not in 2020 to 2022 because of you know what.

Soundcloud is a big player in the independent music industry. Every artist can just upload their tracks and create a following and even a big fan base.

Anyway, I bumped into some nice music on SoundCloud that was refreshing and not the kind of music that you hear everyday on commercial radio in the car on your way to work and back. It was more creative and lively. No auto tune voice every song over and over, but songs without any vocals or songs with vocalists that can actually sing without help of an electronic device.

This made me think, could there be hope for me and my buddy? We were making music for some 4 to 5 years on a computer and we did it just for fun, not so much for fame and fortune. But this little journey on Soundcloud and Bandcamp made me think. It is not so tough anymore to publish your songs, do some promotion and build a following. These days you can actually make a nice brand yourself as an independent artist or band.

I talked it over with my buddy Adam, who is not to keen on getting a large online focus on his own person. But he agreed to let the music do the talking and we would just have an artist page and give ourselves some artist names. He was producing mash ups and remixes already for years under the name DJ Weetos, but I had a totally different background in contemporary rock music as a bass player and producer.

So I had to come up with a name which would represent me as an artist on a new quest for fresh sounds. I later came up with the name Legacy-X. I had prior experience as a bandmember in a totally different genre, but exactly that would be the legacy I would bring to the table exploring these new sounds and songs. The X stands for eXperience or generation X: a new generation of electronic music with contemporary ideas of how to write songs. Together we are DJ Weetos & Legacy-X

A new concept was born and we decided to polish our songs, so these would be fit for an audience and we published 5 of our songs to SoundCloud in February2023. We made a fresh account and we made a top 5 of about 20 songs. From there we grew our online presence.

I also took a dive into video editing, because I used to do it when I was still working professionally as an audio/visual engineer back in the days. I made some experimental videos with the help of AI text to video generation with Genmo. Later on, I decided to experiment some more with stock videos from Artgrid. I became more and more savvy in the editing flow and I produced music videos every week. We ended up posting these music videos on our YouTube channel. DJ Weetos & Legacy-X will surprise the YouTube audience with their music videos.

Slowly but surely, we started to have a lot of fun with our creations and the feedback we got back from our followers inspired us to create more content and now we want to share our work with you. Enjoy our music and music videos!

If you want to support us financially, you can do so by buying from our Bandcamp page.

Debut album "Laughter in the Fist" Brown Leg finally ready after 3 years

The debut album "Laughter in the Fist" by the Dutch rock formation Brown Leg is finally on sale! It took some (three years) while, but the debut album  is finished and the CDs have been produced.
first single from the album "Laughter in the Fist"

A brief introduction

Brown Leg is active for 10 + years now and has always existed as a cover band, until + - 5 years ago when they decided to write their own material. Meanwhile the very talented guitarist Martijn de Wit (Great Sin) has strengthened the writing of the music and the production of a full album gained momentum. At the end of 2012 the recordings were completed and the album was mixed. Afterwards it still took half a year to get the album finished (artwork, printing, CD pressing)

My Friend Clueless (MCF) is finally publishing their 2004 debut album: "Follow the Marsh Fire" online

Spontaneously from the motivational slogan: "Now for something completely different" My Clueless Friend brings you a fresh mix of reggae, rock and pop.
Dutch band My Friend Clueless existed a small 4 years and they were animated by an overriding tendency towards having fun, mixed with influences from pop, rock and reggae and a little touch of psychedelia. These are the elements that give this band a colorful and varied character.

With a totally unique sound MCF shows her energy and creativity. The album "Follow the Marshfire" was written and recorded in their own studio. Mastered by Cut 'n Clear studio in Amsterdam.
MCF wanted the to conquer Dutch stages with their quirky and catchy music. Live performances of MCF were a revelation of pure energy and fun elements that quickly skipped over to the public.
Moreover, MCF already played a large number of local and regional performances and played on stage during support acts with bands like Racoon, Beef, One in a Million, Kopna Kopna, Stuurbaard Bakkebaard and Krang.

Unfortunately My Clueless Friend in its original setting split in 2005 and the band made a re-start under the name Elementric. Nowadays, the lead singer of the band Dick Kwakman started a solo career as a singer songwriter under the name One Clueless Friend. So, the apple does not fall far from the musical tree...
MY Clueless Friend is not active anymore in live performances, but there is no reason to NOT share this beautiful debut album Follow the Marshfire, enjoy!

If this album goes viral online and fans will start to ask for a live performance.....who knows....just make them an offer they can't refuse!

Imagine Dragons - It's Time

After the last note played on the last song of a marathon set a few years ago, Dan Reynolds, frontman for Las Vegas based rockers Imagine Dragons, realized it was all starting to come together. “We were playing a gig at this place called O’Sheas, which has the cheapest beer on the strip,” Reynolds remembers. “I was basically standing on top of the drums, the stage was so small.

We were on our final song of a six-hour set. I got to the end of the song and just fully passed out in the middle of singing. I came to, got up, finished the song, and we got a standing ovation from all these people at this tiny little casino at three am on a weekday in Vegas. Something about that moment bonded us and made us realize that we were building a connection with people from all over the country.”

Since then that connection has only grown. Reynolds and his bandmates – guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman – independently released three EPs, toured extensively, earning a grass roots following. Then, earlier this year, the band made their major label debut with the release of their Continued Silence EP, which included the breakthrough single “It’s Time,” an anthemic foot-stomping track that perfectly encapsulates the band’s unvarnished emotional sound. The song, which reached #3 at Modern Rock radio and #2 at AAA, earned the group a 2012 MTV VMA nomination for “Best Rock Video.”

With the groundswell of energy “It’s Time” generated, Imagine Dragons are now preparing for the release of their full-length debut, Night Visions, available on Grammy award winning producer Alex Da Kid’s (Eminem, Rihanna) label, KIDinaKORNER. “This record has been three years in the making,” Reynolds explains of his excitement in finally getting to share the album with the world. “We feel that we have finally created something we are all truly proud of and that can hopefully inspire others and help them feel a little less alone. That’s what music is about. It’s the greatest communicator I know.”
